From a desperately poor beginning in the remote hills of Nepal, Jit Baral spent his childhood working to live. Abandoned by his father, cast aside along with his mother and sister by the village, Jit was determined to find a way to an education. When he left that life behind through a series of challenges and obstacles to pursue his dreams in becoming a PhD and making his mother (who scarified everything) proud, Jit soon learned that the "other" world was just as demanding. He faced a different type of hardship and challenge. He now lived to work.

Beyond the Bread shares his unique perspective of living in two parallel worlds and the realization that the grass is never greener on the other side.

Jit's experiences teach us that true happiness is a state achieved from within, absolutely independent of circumstance or wealth. A genuine desire from the heart can overcome any difficulties in the way of life.
