PHOTO OF THE MONTH △ The Dolphin Head Nebula Djaffar Ould Abdeslam, Lozere, France, 29–31 December 2024 Djaffar says: “This was a challenging target due to its faint luminosity and low position, just 20° above the horizon. That heightened the difficulties caused by denser atmospheric layers and increased turbulence, and reduced the window of visibility. I was very pleased to achieve this result over three nights.” Equipment: ZWO ASI2600MM camera, Askar FRA500 refractor, Sky-Watcher EQ6-R mount Exposure: Ha 24x 600”, OIII 53x 600” Software: NINA, PixInsight Djaffar’s top tips: “Faint objects near the horizon require long exposure times and careful polar alignment.
