Top 50 Prospects: 2016 Draft

The 2016 draft class has a strong mix of college and high school talent, with a promising collection of pitching prospects at the top. New Jersey prep lefthander Jason Groome leads the pack, armed with a mid-90s fastball and swingand-miss curveball that evokes comparisons to Clayton Kershaw. The top college arms are righthander Alec Hansen (Oklahoma) and lefthander A.J. Puk (Florida). Both can reach the upper 90s and have powerful, physical pitchers’ bodies.
