Badass Self-Care: A six-month guided journey into reclaiming self-love and self-trust is a deep dive into the many aspects of self-care. Filled with dozens of practices and prompts, this book provides a framework for building a life where you are regularly tuned into yourself, connected with what you want and need, and lovingly caring for yourself.
Badass Self-Care is the practice of unpacking the bullshit messaging of patriarchy so that we can reclaim self-love and self-trust. It is sacred, slow work that goes beneath the surface of what you might think of as self-care. The practices and prompts in this book are an invitation to dive in deep and deconstruct the sociocultural messages that deliberately undermine your ability to care for yourself so that you can shift your mindset and ultimately, your life.
There are six components of Badass Self-Care: Listen, Ground, Release, Speak, Act, and Honor. Listen is the practice of turning inward and connecting with ourselves. Ground is the practice of cultivating a loving relationship with our bodies. Release is the practice of letting go of what no longer serves us. Speak is the practice of naming our desires and allowing ourselves to want. Act is the practice of taking steps toward our dreams and creating supportive structure in our lives. Honor is the practice of claiming our truth, celebrating ourselves, and honoring our feminine nature.
This book is designed as a six-month journey. My intention is that you will spend one month working with each of the Badass Self-Care components. The chapters are broken down into four weeks and each week has its own set of practices and journal prompts.
