Having first appeared as a render at an earlier stage of development, the car that shares some key design ideas with Ferrari ended the first test without its title-sponsor livery

FRONT END The nose is quite rounded in shape, ending at the second wing element like many of the other 2022 designs seen so far. Like Ferrari, Haas has also opted for a modular tip construction to allow for flexibility in any changes to the wing. The inboard-loaded front wing bows down into the shallower outboard section, allowing for airflow to shift outwards. Haas’s diveplanes on the endplate are arguably the most interesting seen so far, sweeping downwards and forming a tab on the trailing edge. They’ll work like a gurney flap, and kick airflow outwards around the front wheels. The endplate’s leading edge also features a tiny amount of scalloping, which can reduce drag and noise.
