Deadline looms for Andretti F1 green light

FORMULA 1 Michael Andretti wants the FIA to make a decision on his proposed Formula 1 entry for Andretti Global by the end of this month. Since Andretti’s father, 1978 world champion Mario, revealed on Twitter that plans were in the works for an Andretti F1 entry, talks have been ramping up about a possible 11th team on the grid. Speaking to Autosport at the IndyCar opener last weekend, Andretti said he needed a decision from the FIA soon. “The clock’s running for us to be there in 2024,” he said. “We need to know within a month.” Andretti, who plans to field IndyCar rising star Colton Herta in one of the seats if he secures an entry, came close to taking over the Sauber operation that runs the Alfa Romeo team last…
