Jean Behra (Maserati 250F) heads the field at the start of the 1957 British Grand Prix at Aintree, with the Vanwalls of Stirling Moss (#18) and Tony Brooks (#20) leading the pursuit. Moss was ahead by the end of the first lap and established himself in the lead, but was later forced to pit with a misfire. The problem was deemed too serious to fix, so Brooks was called in to donate his car to Moss, who rejoined ninth. Moss’s epic fightback to victory, shared with Brooks, is the stuff of motorsport folklore.
