MG LIVE IN DOUBT DUE TO SILVERSTONE RESURFACING

SILVERSTONE The popular MG Live event is one of two club meetings planned for June to have been cancelled by Silverstone because the circuit will be closed for resurfacing. MG Live is the flagship event in the MG Car Club’s calendar, but it will no longer take place at the Northamptonshire venue on 15-16 June owing to the construction work. Silverstone’s recently relaid surface came in for criticism last year when the MotoGP event in August had to be cancelled following heavy rain. The BRDC British Formula 3 season finale at the circuit was also rain-affected. Race two was reduced to two laps behind the safety car and the third race was called off altogether.
