MOTOGP LOSAIL (QAT) 10 MARCH ROUND 1/19 Andrea Dovizioso kicked off the 2019 MotoGP season in exactly the same way as he did the previous one – by beating Marc Marquez to victory by the slimmest of margins in Qatar. In 2018, Honda man Marquez made a late lunge at the last corner and came up 0.027 seconds short of his Ducati adversary. This time around, Dovizioso was forced to repel a near-identical assault by the reigning champion, who was 0.023s shy at the flag. There was late drama when it emerged that four manufacturers – Honda included – had protested the legality of the Ducatis, which were running new winglets in front of the rear tyre.
