F3000, SPA, 1987 After jumping straight from Formula Ford 2000 to F3000, Blundell was limited on finances and ran a car himself under the Fleetray Racing banner in 1987. He truly arrived on the international radar with a stunning performance at a soggy Spa, where he hauled his second-hand Lola T86/50 (fourth in pic) into the lead, overtaking Michel Trolle in the process – but a red flag stopped the race and the results were taken back a lap, meaning he was classified in second place. LE MANS, 1990 Nissan was determined to land glory at Le Mans, so its 1990 effort was expanded to five cars.
