Why does F1 persist with ridiculous aero? I read with interest Adam Cooper’s column last week, ‘F1’s ticking Doomsday Clock’. I then got as far as pages 28 and 29 – to my mind this is the real reason that F1 is going in the wrong direction. Aero is killing the sport, not Liberty Media. These ridiculous wings and bargeboards, along with the plethora of airflow conditioning devices, combined with the lorry-like proportions of modern F1 cars, are backward not forward thinking.
