El Golf celebró su 50 cumpleaños con un multitudinario encuentro que reunió a más de 2.000 fans. 700 propietarios de Golf de todas las generaciones se dieron cita en La Gran Golfada en el aeródromo de Marugán (Segovia) para rendir homenaje a una leyenda. Un GOLF I de 1979, que sigue circulando a sus 45 años, ha sido el modelo más antiguo. La leyenda está muy viva, y prueba de ello son los más de 770.000 Golf que actualmente circulan por las carreteras españolas.
