5 Series prepped for a fresh look and efficiency upgrade

BMW is putting the final touches to a range of updates for the 5 Series line-up. Due to reach UK showrooms next year, the tweaks will include a subtly revised look, updated on-board tech and improved efficiency. Spy shots reveal that only minor cosmetic tweaks will appear on the updated saloon, amounting to a reshaped front bumper and revised headlamps. And as on other recently revised BMW models, a new larger kidney grille will also be added. Around the back it’s familiar facelift fare; new tail-lamps can be picked out beneath the cladding, along with a reprofiled rear bumper. Tweaks will also be made to the 5 Series’ range of petrol and diesel engines, but the focus for the German firm will be on improving the all-electric range of the plug-in…
