Big megapixel cameras are changing the way we photograph. But how big is too big? For many years I would suggest that photographers shoot with a thought to how they were planning their final image use. This was because we had limited information available in 35mm film. My, how time has changed. I now shoot with 50 and 42MP cameras – a huge amount of information! Can I crop? You bet, and I can still have a lot of information to print and use my images. This is the same also for a 20MP sensor. Crop 50% and you still have 10MP of information. This will offer a two page spread in this magazine!
