“Danny Dimes” is now “Danny Dollars,” as the New York Giants paid a high price this offseason to keep Daniel Jones as their starting quarterback. Jones signed a four-year, $160 million deal ($95 million guaranteed) to remain in New York, and he now carries even higher expectations heading into the 2023 season. It’s a hefty price tag for a quarterback who in four NFL seasons has not eclipsed 3,500 yards (his career high is last year’s 3,205) and still hasn’t matched the 24 touchdown passes he tossed as a rookie. In fact, Jones has thrown just 36 TD passes combined in the three seasons since that rookie campaign. The bright side?
