ERIC FISHER has acquitted himself well in his 10 seasons, but his relative lack of accolades makes him an appropriate standard-bearer for a lackluster class.

Any comprehensive rundown of the 2013 first-round class would include liberal usage of the descriptors “well-traveled” and “disappointing.” Bottom line: College football dropped a bit of a deuce on the NFL with this class of injury-prone underachievers; fully half of the first-rounders failed to see their fifth-year options picked up. There are exceptions, of course — DeAndre Hopkins is a Hall of Famer in waiting, Lane Johnson is a fringe Hall candidate and players like Cordarrelle Patterson have carved out nice careers for themselves.
