OFFENSE Jeff Scott, the former Clemson co-offensive coordinator, had a rough initial season with the South Florida Bulls. Quarterback instability was a big culprit. Now there’s a plan and a potential pecking order. Cade Fortin, a North Carolina transfer limited to just two games with the Bulls because of a shoulder injury, has the desired passing skills and leadership. Miami transfer Jarren Williams is the fallback option, but don’t be surprised if true freshman lefthander Timmy McClain gets some playing time. Scott was enthused by spring improvement at receiver, particularly from Xavier Weaver and Latrell Williams, while ultra-dependable senior Bryce Miller also returns. True freshman Jimmy Horn Jr., McClain’s high school teammate, might be the best of all. Expect Kelley Joiner and Darrian Felix to open as the primary runners.…
