OFFENSE Off ensive expectations at East Carolina revolve around a healthy Holton Ahlers at quarterback, a veteran line and a powerful ground attack. Ahlers, the homegrown hero, competed 61.3 percent of his throws for 240 yards per game and was 25th nationally with 18 touchdown passes. ECU coaches think he can do more by running less. The Pirates prefer Rookie of the Year and All-AAC runner Rahjai Harris, who averaged 4.9 yards per rush and 78 yards per game, to carry the load on the ground. Keaton Mitchell (5.0 yards per carry) is also the real deal. C.J. Johnson could be the next big thing at receiver.
