Enthusiasm was palpable and realistic for Pittsburgh entering the 2020 season. Yet, despite a roster dotted with NFL hopefuls, the Panthers managed only a 6–5 record, their 11th consecutive season with five losses or more, including all eight seasons since moving to the ACC. This left the fanbase lukewarm. Pat Narduzzi enters his seventh season as the third-longest-tenured Pittsburgh head coach in more than 50 years.
