OFFENSE The RedHawks possess one of the top quarterbacks in the conference and a load of offensive talent, so they expect to field one of the more prolific units in the MAC this season. Brett Gabbert, who won MAC Freshman of the Year honors in 2019 after throwing for 2,411 yards and 11 touchdowns while leading Miami to the MAC championship, has a chance to build on his reputation after scant opportunities in Miami’s three-game 2020 season. Veteran running back Jaylon Bester, who had 741 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2019, missed last year due to injury but returns at full strength, as does Tyre Shelton, the top backup who also missed 2020 with injury issues.
