Israeliske industridesignern Ron Arad växte upp i en minst sagt kreativ miljö. Hans mamma var konstnär, pappan skulptör och brodern musiker. Men redan när Ron var liten försökte hans mamma att inspirera honom till att ägna sig åt arkitektur – inte konst. – Varje gång jag visade mina teckningar för mamma under uppväxten sa hon: ’Du kommer att bli en stor arkitekt’. Som för att skydda mig från smärtan och osäkerheten i ett konstnärsliv, berättar Ron Arad. Ron studerade först vid Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design i Jerusalem och flyttade sedan till London för att gå på Architectural Association School of Architecture. Det var på den senare som han började utveckla sin unika stil. En stil som kännetecknas av ett lekfullt och ofta experimentellt förhållningssätt till material och form.…
