20 NOVEMBER— 1 DECEMBER 1943 10 OCTOBER 1943 Foreign Ministers’ Conference at Moscow prepares ground for Teheran. 18 NOVEMBER 1943 Start of major bombing campaign by RAF Bomber Command against the German capital. 28 NOVEMBER 1943 US Forces complete the conquest of Tarawa Atoll in the South Pacific. 2 DECEMBER 1943 German air force attacks the Italian port of Bari causing a massive explosion of Allied ammunition stores. In November 1943, the three leaders of the major Allied powers met together for the first time in the Iranian capital, Teheran.
