30 YEARS AGO – OCTOBER 1994 Gracing the cover and featuring a major story in the mag was the then editor Ron Moon’s mad dash across the continent. From Byron Bay on the east coast to Steep Point on the west coast, the trip in a Land Rover Discovery took just under three days and 19 hours. Moonie reckons they could have done it quicker but his co-driver was as crook as a dog for most of the way. For other not-so-crazy adventures the magazine took us to Hattah-Kulkyne in the north-west of Victoria and then for something different joined a country copper on patrol in the High Country; sure would beat patrolling city streets!
