AT FIRST glance, Max Ratzlaff’s 105 LandCruiser might look like a standard rig you’d find at any campsite. However, a closer inspection reveals a unique twist: a BMW M57 engine under the bonnet, making it the first of its kind in the country. Max, who bought this as his first 4x4, was drawn to the 105 for its reliability and ease of modification. Initially powered by a petrol engine, the rising cost of diesel Cruisers, and of fuel, led him to explore a more affordable and powerful option. Max chose the BMW M57, a 3.0L straight-six turbo-diesel known for its reliability and performance.
