IT MAY LOOK LIKE A NEAT 80 SERIES, BUT DIVE DEEPER, AND YOU’LL FIND A MONSTER BELOW THE SURFACE

JASON Robson, a dedicated Toyota enthusiast, owns this tidy HDJ80 LandCruiser – his 16th Cruiser. Amid the COVID-19 lockdowns, Jason sought a project to keep busy, and he found this factory turbo-diesel 80 Series with 350K on the clock and an upgraded Sahara-spec interior. His goal was to create a powerful, comfortable tourer that retained the timeless appeal of 1990s LandCruisers. Jason decided to replace the original engine with a 1VD-FTV 4.5L quad-cam twin-turbo V8 diesel from a 200 Series. Off Track Concepts in Cobram took on the challenge, and as this was their first twin-turbo 1VD engine swap into an 80 Series.
