HUNG UP HARRY KANNEGIETER > BEACHPORT, SA HARRY Kannegieter’s first major four-wheel drive trip as part of the Wattle Rangers 4WD Club didn’t exactly go as planned, with his 1998 80 Series Cruiser – five-speed manual, 4.2 1HZ diesel and two-inch lift – getting hung up on a sand dune on Rig Road … with Harry as trip leader, no less. Being based in Beachport, Harry and his wife had spent many hours cruising along the beaches and dunes towards Robe, so they had some experience with sand driving.
