AS 2024 draws to a close and we look back over the year that was, it is obvious that the Australian industry has well and truly recovered from the pandemic. New-car sales are set to reach record numbers for the year and they are At the time of writing, the Ranger looks set to retain its title as the best-selling new car in the country and it’s a title that it wrestled from another 4x4 ute, the Toyota Hilux. Meanwhile SUVs are outselling passenger cars and the Toyota hybrid is the only vehicle to outsell year.
