2025 GWM CANNON ALPHA PHEV DUE IN DEALERSHIPS IN APRIL

GWM TAKES AIM AT THE BYD SHARK AND FORD RANGER WITH ITS NEW CANNON ALPHA PHEV

GWM has unveiled its Cannon Alpha PHEV, with the electrified dual-cab ute expected to arrive in Australian dealerships in April this year. The two-model range will consist of the base-specification Lux ($63,990 drive-away) and the top-specification Ultra ($68,990 drive-away), with both models available to pre-order now. Its most obvious rival, the BYD Shark 6, costs $57,900 before on-road costs. However, the Alpha outperforms the Shark in a number of key criteria. It has a longer electric-only range of 110km (100km for the Shark); a greater combined total range of up to 880km (840km for the Shark); a towing capacity of 3500kg (2500kg for the Shark); and a 37.1kWh lithium battery (29.58kWh for the Shark’s BYD Blade battery).
