LEXUS GX TO OFFER FAIR DINKUM PETROL ALL-ROADER

LEXUS WILL INTRODUCE THE PRADO-BASED GX MODEL TO AUSTRALIA FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH THE GX550 STARTING FROM $116,000.

Lexus’s first GX model in Australia is based on the J250 series Prado which will arrive in June and which shares its platform with the J300 Series Land Cruisers. The GX500 is expected to launch sometime around July. It will be available in Luxury, Overtrail and Sports Luxury variants, with the flagship model topping the line-up at $128,200 plus on-roads. Unlike past off-road capable offerings from Lexus based on the LandCruiser 200 and 300 Series wagons, the GX550 will offer an Overtrail model specifically aimed at buyers wanting to get off the blacktop. All GX models will be powered by a 260kW-650Nm 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine, making this model an option to buyers wanting a petrol off-roader but only had the Nissan Patrol to look at in the past.
