Combining Scandi style with funky British touches has resulted in a distinctive home for Swedish-born Emma Botines-Skogland and her family

Three days before Emma and David Botines were due to put down the deposit on a suburban cottage, fate intervened. As Stockholm-born Emma explains, ‘My Swedish friend was also house hunting and she called to say she had seen a beautifully designed flat which she thought perfect for our growing family, including Elton, seven, and Astrid, three. I went to see it, and minutes later I was calling David to tell him this was the home for us.
