Never judge a book by its cover’ may seem like an old-fashioned idiom, but in the case of Andy and Madeleine Martin’s London home, it is perfectly apt. Built in the Twenties, the unassuming exterior of the property belies the unexpectedly cool, open interior that architect Andy has designed beyond the threshold. But then he is used to constructing special spaces – he has created spectacular interiors for some of London’s most fashionable restaurants, and has also designed homes for hotelier Olga Polizzi and musician Noel Gallagher.
