Starting in the Book of Genesis, and running throughout the entire Old Testament, we are given brief glances of a rebellion to God's authority which involved a full third of the angels of heaven. This rebellion was led by a mysteriously beautiful, and wise creature known as Lucifer, which God had given much power and authority to administer over his heavenly mercy seat. This heavenly rebel is called by several names throughout the New Testament, but Jesus usually referred to him as the Devil, or Satan.
When one considers the magnitude of this rebellion, and the spiritual ramifications it has had on all of God's creation, it is a wonder that so little is said about Lucifer in the Bible. This rebellion took place long before the creation of Adam and Eve, for Lucifer was already labeled a spiritual outlaw long before the six days of creation listed in the book of Genesis; however, there is a mysterious plan the godhead devised. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit secretly conspired together among themselves to legally deal with Lucifer's universal rebellion. The godhead then chose to keep this plan a secret even from his faithful angels, thus we have a mystery that involves a "Promised Seed" that runs throughout the Bible.
Although some theologians have labeled this mystery "the plan of redemption," I prefer to think of it as "God's Ultimate Conspiracy." The details of this divinely inspired plan would be hidden from everybody, including Lucifer, for God was careful not to tell him too much. God willing, may you, the reader, have eyes to see this mysterious plan which has been hidden from all but God's elect from the foundation of the earth, until this time.
