I was looking forward to eat chicken pot pie advertised in july issue. Drove from San antonio to burnet. 2 hrs plus. Food was bland. Tastless. I can get better tasting chicken pot pie at HEB. Marie Callender's frozen is a lot better. Broccoli cheese soup tasted like melted velvet a. Thick and nasty.
I subscribed to Texas Highways Magazine quite a few years ago and recently decided to start it again. While still a good magazine, it is not what it used to be. I think the current iteration tries to be a bit too trendy and politically correct to match some of today's world. Also, seems there are more advertisements than I remember. All in all, it is still a good solid and entertaining read each month.
I use this magazine to plan our road trips. It points out many places we have enjoyed seeing in Texas. The photography is just wonderful and many articles that are well written about very interesting people, history, museums, towns, restaurants, shopping, parks, birding, fishing, amusement parks, beaches, and Texas culture.
So many beautiful pictures and well written articles in each edition.
We love this magazine and so do our patients. The articles are great and the photography is fantastic.
