Good but dry

I generally like the magazine's point of view but most of the long articles tend to be dry.

It's a lot more conservative than I was expecting

I subscribed to Reason because I thought it would offer a nuanced and well-researched perspective at a time when there's a lot of social and political unrest. After three issues, though, I canceled my subscription. I felt condescended to by wealthy people who think a single mom with 2 jobs is lazy because she's poor, while staying mum on the astonishing proliferation of monopolies in America's bastardized version of capitalism. It's frustrating that even libertarians have been paid off by Big Business, because our system desperately needs some new ideas. Alas, Reason doesn't have any.

Indispensable opinions, neither left or right.

While the "right" and "left" shout their knee-jerk marching orders, Reason gives you opinions and ideas that are neither left or right, but thoughtfully considered perspectives on the news and culture.

Necessary and Enlightening

Neither left not right, Reason manages to bring much needed light onto the political commentary scene. I guess I would sum it up as "Reason Refreshes"!

Libertarian Delight

Fiscal conservative + Social liberal? If this describes you, welcome to the only free-thinkers magazine of Libertarian ideals. You are probably more libertarian that you think you are.

The title 'REASON" is the main "reason"

Demonstrates that the party in power are the insiders, the party out of power are the outsiders, and all the rest of us are the losers. This publication shows that there can be an alternative to the current Republican and Democrat party way of doing things.

Contrarian and Thought Provoking

I picked up Reason much like the American Prospect because they were reasonably priced. What is good about Reason is that even if you don't agree it is genuinely thought provoking. Yes, it is writing for it's audience but does not take it for granted that you agree with it. That makes the articles more thought provoking because it rarely strays into polemical diatribes. Love it.
