Since retiring and moving to Carlisle in 2014 and having a house built in a more rural area, I have been lucky enough to witness nature and even farming life from a different view, a closer view. These little poems are scenes that caught my mind as well as my eye. I try and express these quickly fleeting moments in a form I've come to love, haiku. I find it challenging to work and build these little images hoping people will relate and see the beauty, I've been blessed to have seen and felt. Sharing these tiny moments of grace and beauty is my wish. They are poems, as are most haiku, about nature and the changes that come with each season and recognizing those moments. Poems of reflection, calmness and even a little humor, I hope. Poems of being present in the "moments" that are before us.
