About 女猟師
東北のマタギに代表される狩猟の世界は、肉体的にもかなり厳しく、常に危険と隣り合わせ。それゆえ伝統的に男がするものという考え方が一般的です。しかし、そのような現場において、みずから山に入り、猪を撃ち、鹿を解体する女猟師たちがいます。なぜ彼女たちは銃を担ぎ、猟場に立ち、動物を撃つのか。「その理由が知りたい」と、2009年に『マタギ』を記したカメラマンの田中康弘氏が五人の女猟師たちを訪問。30代から60代までの彼女たちは、育った環境や時代、そして狩猟の動機もそれぞれ異なっていました。狩猟を取り巻く社会状況や世間の目というジレンマを抱えた中で、自然とともに強く優しく生きる彼女たちの姿に迫ります。
