DEFENDER 90 Can you help me trace my mystery oil leak? Q My 2.4-litre TDCi has suddenly developed a massive oil leak. I think it’s from something towards the front of the engine; the fan has flicked oil everywhere. I can’t see any split pipes or hoses and the front timing chain cover doesn’t look damaged (although it’s actually difficult to see because there’s black oil everywhere). I’ve now sprayed the engine with degreaser and cleaned it all up as best I can. I started it up again and it doesn’t seem to leak now but I’m guessing that’s probably simply because the oil is thicker when the engine is cold. I really don’t want to use the Defender again until I know what the problem is, because I expect it’ll leak again when…
