About Film Comment
Film Comment is published by the Film Society of the Lincoln Center in New York City. The Society was founded in 1969 as Americas film presentation organization. The organization strives to celebrate both domestic and abroad cinema, as well as to help establish new filmmakers and promote understanding of the art of filmmaking. Therefore much of the goals of the organization spill over into the magazine. Articles also can be found in the magazine on documentaries and narratives. Readers will enjoy photography from special events as well as charts of critics choice on a plethora of films. The Film Society is responsible for two distinguished international festivals, The New York Film Festival and New Directors/New Films.
