Bought this for my son but found it to be full of left-leaning ideology.
This magazine has many interesting articles that I like; however, the magazine also has too many commercial advertisements that take up more than a half of each issue.
Many articles with meat and technical details are important for a retired physicist and thyey keep my interest.
The staples pull out of the center sections and are Very annoying.
The editors have a leftist bent, as do Most liberal institution products, and slant stories toward supporting their agenda.
I actually never wanted to renew my subscription to Discover Magazine. It was processed automatically without my consent and before I knew it, a full year subscription had been charged to my bank account.
II like the articles, but magazine keeps getting smaller/less issues and the cost keeps going up...
It can be educational but most of it leans toward the liberal left on mankind's worldview. It is totally a believer in evolution and never gives any credit to the creationist side or point of view. I appreciate both views but this magazine is ALL evolutionary. When my subscription ends, I will not be renewing. It does have good pictures though.
I have subscribed to this magazine for many years and have found its science articles well written and geared to the lay reader interest in science.
Science information not found elsewhere. Each issue has an interesting medical condition diagnosis.
Since the demise of "Omni," I've looked for a magazine that was intriguing and enjoyable about all the sciences, but that I wouldn't need a BS in Bio, Chem, Physics or Astromony to understand. This magazine is IT! Their coverage is smart and timely, and it provides information you won't necessarily find in Time or National Geographic. I especially like the last page feature, "20 Things You Didn't Know About...", and almost always find something that so piqued my interest that I look for other information about the topic! My ten-year-old cousin loved the Dinosaur issue, while I'm partial to anything about space exploration. So keep up the good work, Discover. I look forward to every issue!
Taught high school science for 44 years...nice to keep up with the new changes
