YOU may have seen those tall, white “fans” in the countryside – long poles with huge blades at the top being spun by the wind. These modern structures that have popped up in the past few years are called wind turbines and they convert the energy of the wind into electricity. Several turbines together are called a wind farm. Here’s how you can make your own mini-turbine, with which you can generate enough energy to pick up an object. STEP BY STEP STEP 1 Most medium disposable cups are about 9cm tall.
