Pushing the toy train along the floor with my son Cameron, five, and his brother Ethan, three, I suddenly felt queasy. ‘Choo choo,’ I winced, trying to ignore the whirling feeling inside. I’d been having dizzy spells for months now, something my doctor put down to me having too many caffeine-filled fizzy drinks. My mum, Tina, then 56, wasn’t convinced. ‘Get a second opinion,’ she urged now, as I staggered to my feet. Devastating diagnosis Days later, in September 2011, I went back to my doctor, who finally referred me to the Countess of Chester Hospital for a CT scan. They had my results an hour later. ‘We’ve found a tumour in my your brain,’ said the consultant. I felt like I was going to throw up. A brain tumour? How could that be?…
