A graduate of two elite French engineering schools, the Ecole des Mines and the Ecole Polytechnique, a gifted mountain climber and great traveller, Félix Leprince-Ringuet took hundreds of photographs throughout his whole life, Mobilized in 1914 with the rank of squadron chief, he photographed his entire war. This photographical archive was entrusted to the library of the Paris Ecole des Mines (of which Leprince-Ringuet had been a curator) by his grandson Bruno Turquet, We are grateful for his permission to publish some of these pictures.…
