Whizzy Twizy!

Earlier this year a flock of 10 sheepedup Renault Twizy electric quadricycles arrived in the Lake District to offer ecofriendly transport to visitors. Available for hire (see ‘Find a Twizy’), each has a different name and sheepish facial expression. During a recent stay at the Blencathra FSC Centre in Threlkeld, Trail got behind the wheel of ‘Pip’ for a quick Tour de Derwent Water: from Threlkeld to Castlerigg Stone Circle, on to Keswick town centre, down to Grange in Borrowdale, up to Portinscale, finishing with a quick blaast back along the A66, maxing out the speedo at a terrifying 51mph.
