It’s a classic view: the sheer northwestern face of Craig-las towering beyond the waters of Llynnau Cregennen. But how many people actually walk those crags? Very few, judging by the quietness of this westernmost end of the Cadair Idris massif. For those who like their hills uncluttered by crowds, this is the place to be on a summer’s weekend when everyone else is out to bag the summit, Penygadair. So let’s start by enjoying that view and then, literally, walking it – the whole length of the Craig-las escarpment and on to the western outlier, Craig-y-llyn.
