New hydrographic work boat completed

Melbourne-based Total Hydrographic has added a new, custom-built work boat to its fleet. Designed by Pro Marine/Denis Pratt, the 7.1m aluminium monohull was built by Ozsea Plate Boats in Seaford, Victoria. The boat is a custom version of an Ozsea 710 HT, with custom features such as bulwark door to support over-the-side survey operations. The vessel is powered by a pair of Suzuki DF115 outboards. The preliminary sea trials were exciting and demonstrated how the vessel will enable Total Hydrographic to extend our reach and operational conditions that were previously restricted by weather, Total Hydrographic said shortly after it was completed. Maritime Survey Australia (MSA) undertook the relevant inspections for AMSA NSCV 2C survey. This included stability tests, commissioning surveys, and sea trials with MSA Surveyor James Nolan.
