A real-life Transformer

Artist and engineer Jonathan Tippett, from Canada, has built a giant robot he named “Prosthesis.” The mechanical suit is about 10 feet tall, weighs nearly 9,000 pounds, and has more power than an average car. Tippett spent seven years building it after being inspired by the Transformers films. He described his invention as “a cross between an excavator, a dune buggy, and a dinosaur.” Prosthesis holds the record for the world’s largest exoskeleton (a skeleton that’s on the outside) on four legs. Using the Prosthesis suit increases a person’s strength by about 50 times. Tippett hopes the suit could someday help with things like farming, mining, and search and rescue.…
