I wanted to play soccer there, but the coach said, “We don’t have any walkon spots, and you’re not going to make the team.” I decided to try rugby. I wasn’t sure what it was all about, but I quickly fell in love with it. Special sport Rugby is a lot like football without the pads or stoppages in time. There are a lot of weird little quirks and rules—you can only pass backward—but it’s so much fun. It’s an intense sport, which really drives team connection.
