Dogs and AI sniff out cancer

Scientists are working to improve cancer detection by combining the powerful sniffing abilities of dogs with artificial intelligence (AI, when a computer imitates human learning). The results have led to increased accuracy and could mean better treatment outcomes for patients. More than 1.7 million new cases of cancer (a collection of diseases caused by cells that grow out of control) are reported each year in the US.
