Track stars begin indoor season

On February 2, top track and field athletes gathered at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston, Massachusetts, for their first event of the season. Many Olympic medalists and world champions participated, making for thrilling races. One of the most anticipated events was the men’s 60-meter race, which is unique to indoor track. It featured a showdown between US star Noah Lyles, the reigning Olympic champion in the 100-meters, and Italy’s Marcell Jacobs, who won the 100 at the Olympics in 2021. Lyles sprinted to the finish in 6.52 seconds and won. Terrence Jones of the Bahamas came in second, PJ Austin of the US was third, and Jacobs was fourth.
