Carson Rehkopf is taking the disappointment from Canada’s defeat at last year’s WJC and using it to fuel his game to the next level

WHEN CARSON REHKOPF left the Seattle Kraken training camp, he was heading back to the OHL with a new club and a couple of goals in mind. He wanted to be a leader and dominate every game – both for the Brampton Steelheads and at the World Junior Championship. As one of the six Canadian players likely to return for the WJC this year, Rehkopf understands this year has to be different. A loss in the quarterfinal wasn’t nearly good enough for Canada. “It’s a hard tournament,” Rehkopf said. “Obviously, Canada is expected to win it every year, and that’s just what we suffer from ourselves.
